Wyandotte hen

Behavior and character
Generally calm and friendly, Wyandotte hens still have a particular strength of character that can sometimes make them seem a little distant. They are pretty shy towards humans but only ask to be tamed. Their somewhat imposing size often gives them a reasonably high place in the pecking hierarchy within the henhouse.

Some lines of Wyandotte are known to be talkative and loud, which can be problematic if you have close neighbors.

Despite its strong personality, it is generally an amiable breed, making it a good choice if you are new to keeping chickens.
